Centro Habana doesn't get restored the way Habana Vieja does, and that's the point — this is where you see how habaneros actually live, between crumbling balconies, corner bakeries and the wafting smell of a paladar kitchen. Starting from Parque Central, this walk crosses into the district's grid of streets and Barrio Chino, Havana's historic Chinatown, now more archway than neighborhood but still holding onto its identity.

The route also passes the Malecón and finishes at the murals of Callejón de Hamel, the alley where artist Salvador González Escalona turned Afro-Cuban Santería symbolism into public art — and where rumba drummers still gather on Sundays.
