Chorrillos was a quiet fishing village until it became a battleground: in January 1881, it was the site of the Battle of Chorrillos, one of the bloodiest confrontations of the War of the Pacific between Peru and Chile, and much of the town was burned in the aftermath. This tour walks through that history along the clifftops south of Barranco and Miraflores, where the Pacific views are as dramatic as the past is heavy.

Away from the history, you'll also see the Chorrillos that survived — the fishing pier still used by local boats, quiet residential streets far removed from Lima's busier tourist circuit, and some of the best unobstructed ocean views in the whole city.
