The modern tour is about the Bilbao built after the shipyards closed. It starts with Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum seen from outside, then follows the Gran Vía de Don Diego López de Haro, the main street of the Ensanche, and stops beneath the Isozaki Atea twin towers, the tallest residential buildings in the Basque Country.

From there the group crosses the white Zubizuri footbridge to the Uribitarte promenade and heads towards the La Salve bridge for views along the river. The last part covers the Neo-Basque Ibaigane palace, home of Athletic Club, Plaza Moyúa with the Chávarri palace and the Carlton hotel, the Iberdrola Tower and the Fine Arts Museum, before returning to the Guggenheim.
